Grooming habits have been evolving for both men and women, and it’s definitely something we all keep in mind now when it comes to dating and relationships. Any guy whose been dating since the 80s or 90s knows that many women today will eliminate every hair from their bodies. While they don’t expect quite he same for guys, the idea of manscaping is something every guy at least needs to think about. You should at least start by considering that back hair if that’s an issue for you . . .

On a less private matter, facial hair is making a comeback in some circles, as it’s been mostly out of fashion for years. In this area opinions vary wildly as you might expect.

All of this is covered in a new film called “Mansome” from Morgan Spurlock, with appearances by Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Adam Carolla, Judd Apatow, Zach Galifianakis along with others. From metrosexuals to more extreme cases, Spurlock takes a humorous look at the subject.

If you’re looking to improve your game with women, you should definitely consider your appearance and grooming habits. You don’t have to do anything radical, but paying attention to it can help you with your confidence and improve your chances. Find a look that works for you, and subtle changes can go a long way.

Broadway show tickets are always a great gift

With the success of Trey Parker and Matt Stone with “The Book of Mormon,” you have a whole new generation getting introduced to the art form of Broadway musicals. Some guys really don’t appreciate this stuff, thinking there are more manly entertainment options. Yet if you’re looking for a great date idea or a gift that your mom, wife or girlfriend will remember, you really can’t do much better than show tickets.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone are hilarious, and it’s fun watching them talk about the musical as they do above. Some of these shows are hilarious and “The Book of Mormon” definitely fits the bill. It’s been a sensation on Broadway, and you’ll definitely score some points with tickets to that show.

You should also consider theater tickets when you’re traveling, as many towns have surprisingly good theater districts. Cleveland is a good example. Then you have cities like New York and London where the theater experience is one of the primary attractions. If you can coordinate seeing plays in London you won’t regret it, as every major production is out there. You can get classic shows like buying Lion King tickets or the new hot show that’s getting all the buzz. Combine that with one of the great restaurants in London and you have an evening she’ll never forget.

So get outside your comfort zone and think about new things. The women in your life will appreciate it.

If you’re new to the dating game, or have just recently been reintroduced, there’s no doubt about it; dating can be one of the more awkward and trying things in all of manhood. Trying to figure out what a woman wants and giving her that while being yourself can be tricky. They want you sensitive but firm, consistent but spontaneous, talkative but attentive, yada, yada, yada, pretty much any two juxtaposing ideals you can think of. But dating really doesn’t have to be all that hard. With these five easy tips and ideas, dating can actually be an enjoyable experience.

– Give Online Sites a Try

Oftentimes the hardest part about dating is just getting a date. While there still seems to be a lingering stigma for some surrounding dating via the web, it really does work, and it can take a lot of the random guesswork out of the equation. There are sites for all types of guys, even those who fit the sugar daddy definition. Giving these sites a try can really make your life a lot easier. Remember: don’t knock it ‘till you try it.

– Go Some Place You Know

Now that you have a date, taking her to a restaurant or any other destination that you’re familiar with instantly increases your comfort level. It can also give you some great conversational topics if you know certain things about the place or the surrounding area.

– Be Ready

It’s wise to have a couple different conversation topics or points stored in the memory bank, just in case you find yourself in one of those awkwardly long silences where neither of you can think of anything to say. In this same vein, while it’s important to be prepared, over-planning or overthinking things can be a huge turnoff for women, who somehow seem to have a sixth sense for these sort of things.

If you’ve ever seen the movie Good Will Hunting, you’ll probably recall this fitting quote from Robin Williams’ character: “You’re not perfect, sport. And let me save you the suspense… this girl… she isn’t either.” Don’t expect perfection on a first date, or any date for that matter. Things will probably get awkward once or twice, but that’s all part of the game. Just knowing and expecting that can be the difference between success and failure.

Women aren’t the only sex that likes to talk about themselves, but when it comes to dates, you should make it as much about her as possible. Ask her questions, compliment her hair and outfit, and let her know that you’re generally interested in her as a person, not just a potential mate.

Product Review: Pherlure Pheromone Cologne

In the words of Forrest Gump, “I am not a smart man, Jen-nay. But I know what love is.” Maybe I’m the last guy on earth who had never heard of pheromones or used them to woo some unsuspecting broads, but it made me think of that nerd on “The Simpsons” in a lab surrounded by beakers.

I was familiar with a hormone, thanks to my mom’s favorite joke that she’s been telling since I met her:

“How do you make a hormone, Paul?”

“I don’t know mom, how?”

“Step on her toe!”

But what the hell is a pheromone? According to Wikipedia: “A pheromone is a secreted or excreted chemical factor that triggers a social response in members of the same species.”

Whoa! Same species? Ex-squeeze me, but keep your hands of my genus, man. Wait, never mind; women are part of our species even though it rarely feels like that.

To put this stuff to the test, I sprayed it onto my body prior to engaging in varying social situations where I knew women would be present: the strip club, the office, the dentist office and my daughter’s daycare. All in the name of science, gents.

Once I entered the confines of the Bottom’s Up Lounge, I knew some type of social response would be triggered. As ZZ Top’s “Lowdown in the Street” poured through the speakers, my cohort and I made a b-line for the front of the stage. For comparisons sake, I was fully loaded up with Pherlure while he was completely unscented.

As I sat there, I was approached by a young, hot stripper. The first thing she said to me after rubbing up against my chest/$15 faux fleece pullover from a nearby Wal-Mart was, “Wow, you smell great.” BOO-YAH. I bet she’s never said that to a dude before or since and actually meant it, like she did to me.
