Today’s society is driven by celebrity culture, as an impressionable generation of youngsters become increasingly fixated on the lives of the rich and famous. It is easy to see why, especially when you see the lavish homes in which this demographic lives and the lifestyles that they enjoy.

Our host’s smug amusement at this failure is then compounded when Stallone’s wife Jennifer Flavin wins big but moments later. Not that the big man seemed at all bothered – with celebritynetworth.com estimating his personal fortune at around $400m, Rocky Balboa can swallow the odd bad month at ‘the office’.
I’ve watched my fair share of poker on television—although, I must admit, I still find it weird that poker is on ESPN. While there are some real rough looking guys and some total goobers sitting around the poker tables, poker has recently had a surge of hot women joining the ranks amongst the top poker players in the profession. What I find most surprising is the number of Hollywood actresses that have joined in on the fun. The following cinematic babes have given a whole new meaning to the term “double threat.”
Jennifer Tilly is possibly the most prolific actress/poker player. Not many women can tout that they are an Academy Award nominee and a winner of a World Series of Poker Ladies’ Event bracelet winner. In 2005, Jennifer Tilly won her World Series of Poker bracelet—with it came a nice purse of $158,625. In the same year, she won her third World Poker Tour Ladies Invitational Tournament.
We’re still fans of the lovely Pamela Anderson, and she made an appearance at Palladium Jewelry this weekend while she was in Las Vegas for the annual Couture Show.
Then she attended a star-studded evening at Azure at The Palazzo Las Vegas last night. In celebration of the JCK jewelry convention and to help The Palazzo Las Vegas kick off it’s first ever Carnevale celebrations, celebrity-adored brand Simon G. Jewelry threw its annual Simon G. Jewelry “Summer Soiree.” Along with Pam, guests included George Clooney‘s hot babe girlfriend Stacy Keibler, Giuliana Rancic, Melissa Rycroft, Cheryl Burke, Audrina Patridge, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin and Patti Stanger of “Millionaire Matchmaker.”

Michael Jordan was in his element, chewing on a cigar and hanging out with his celebrity pals on the stunning Shadow Creek golf course for the 11th Annual Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational (MJCI). I was parked next the tee box on the 18th hole to get some photos as MJ and his entourage pulled up in their carts with music in the background. Everyone at the tournament was having a great time, but Jordan was top dog as usual.
I was in my element as well, enjoying a blowout weekend at the Aria Resort & Casino and hanging out on a beautiful day in the desert as I nursed a hangover from the previous night’s debauchery. As you can see from the slideshow above I had a great view as celebrities from Brandi Chastain, Aaron Rodgers, John Smoltz, Ken Griffey, Jr. and Roger Clemens blasted drives from the 18th tee. A good time was being had by all and the celebs happily mingled with the fans near the tee box.
Brandi Chastain and John Smoltz were in the lead following Saturday’s first round of the celeb-only scramble after shooting a six-under par 66. Hall of Fame broadcaster Ahmad Rashad, and teammate and former baseball all-star Roger Clemens, were two strokes back at 4-under. Clemons hit a monster drive on 18. The two-person, 36-hole celebrity-only scramble continues today with winners to be announced at 3 p.m. The winning celebs each will take home $20,000 for their designated charities. It would have been fun to bet a celebrity tournament link this at a site like bwin.

The course at Shadow Creek was simply stunning, and it has to be on your list if you’re a golfer heading to Las Vegas. It’s amazing to pull up to this oasis in the middle of the Nevada desert. With the mountains in the background as you can see from the photo above, the beauty of this course ranks up there with some of the best I’ve seen.
