NFL Divisional Playoffs: Indianapolis Colts vs. Denver Broncos Preview

This season, the Broncos were able to win seven out of their last nine games at home in the postseason, and in those meetings they went 6-3 ATS. However, the Broncos were also beaten in six out their last seven encounters with the Colts, and went 0-7 ATS. On Sunday, the Broncos and QB Peyton Manning will face the Colts and QB Andrew Luck at Mile High, in what would be their third game against them in a Divisional Round playoff matchup of the AFC at home, one that sportsbook software agents and fans alike are very eager to watch.

The betting line opened with the Broncos being the favorites by seven points, and 54 was the total.

Indianapolis were just able to dominate the Bengals when they beat them 26-10 in a Wild Card Game of the AFC, outgained Cincinnati 482-254, and covered as the favorites by four points. The Colts had a lead of 10-9 at halftime, and then they were able to win the game’s second half at 13-0. Therefore, Indianapolis were able to win six out of the last seven meetings that they played, and in that time they were only defeated by the Cowboys.

This season, the Colts had a ranking of third place in their total offense, and in their total defense they were 11th place, going 5-3 ATS in road games. And even though the Broncos beat the Colts 31-24 in a game in September at Mile High, they made it within one score, covering as the dogs by eight points.

The Broncos are now the AFC’s second seeded team, with this next game at home and one more week to get ready. Their season finished on a run of 5-1, and at Mile High they ended with a flawless record of 8-0, covering some games with big spreads.

They have a fourth placed ranking in their total offense, and in their total defense they’re third place. The team also has the services of RB C.J. Anderson, who is becoming very dangerous on the field with his running ability.

The Broncos defeated the Colts in September, but that meeting wasn’t really as close as that final score could show, keeping in mind that in the middle of the fourth quarter, the Broncos were leading 31-10.

This season, NFL teams that were able to outrush their opponents were able to cover 69% of the time, and the Broncos are the ones who will probably win the battle on the ground. Therefore, many sportsbook software agents believe that Denver are the ones to go for in this contest.
