reebok

For those always looking for the latest high-tech running shoes, there’s something special about the all-new Reebok ATV 19s. We recently tested a pair in all-black, and from the time you first check out these new kicks, you can tell they are going to be like nothing you have ran in before!

You’ll first notice the irregular lug pattern outsole technology that features 19 large size ATV lugs to help provide traction and agility on various surfaces. The ATV 19 also boasts a full-length IMEVA midsole that is designed to provide earth-shaking traction and durable comfort. The support that I felt in the ATV 19 is as good as any running shoe tested to date! Check out the video below featuring Dallas Cowboys linebacker Demarcus Ware and UFC fighter Rampage Jackson to see for yourself how the ATVs hold up in tough conditions.

The bottom line here is that Reebok’s ATV 19 provides maximum ground contact that can rip through any surface because its irregular sole gives you a banked feel for incredible traction. The ATV 19s are available today for $90 at key retailers, including Finish Line and Reebok.com.

Car Review: 2013 Kia Sportage SX AWD

kia_sportage_1

There is no denying the Hollywood good looks of the 2013 KIA Sportage SX AWD, but can this crossover deliver on the road? After a week behind the wheel, there is no doubt that there’s so much more than just curb appeal to this sleek ride from KIA, with impressive power, outstanding fuel efficiency and loads of comfort and convenience features.

EXTERIOR

The 2013 Kia Sportage offers a high beltline, sweeping angles and pronounced wheel flares, conveying an indomitable road presence with an aggressive, hunkered-down stance. The full-sectioned body, defined by a spearing shoulder line throughout the length of the car, helps to visually connect the headlamps and tail lights. The crispness of this line, together with its lowered body, creates a distinct sense of precision while the pronounced C pillar conveys an air of solidity and balance when viewed from the side. Like all vehicles across the Kia lineup, the Sportage’s front end proudly displays the face of the brand’s signature tabbed grille and dramatic swept back headlamps. The dynamically sculpted hood, framed by a distinctive windshield design, adds to Sportage’s fresh appeal. The rear view offers a clean and contemporary look with dynamic tail lights set within the rear lift gate.

Our red test model was a top-of-the-line Sportage SX with a powerful yet fuel-efficient 2.0-liter turbocharged GDI engine producing 260-horsepower, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust, sculpted side sill moldings and unique SX grille. One of the better looking exterior designs for a crossover regardless of price!

INTERIOR

The good looks carry over with ease into a modern and smart interior that has much more room that one might imagine. KIA has created an inviting and comfortable environment with a host of convenience and technology features in the 2013 KIA Sportage SX AWD. With the signature three-gauge instrument cluster set prominently within the dash, Sportage’s interior exudes a contemporary design and sporty driving experience.

An impressive collection of technology features come standard on the 2013 Sportage, including an AM/FM/CD/MP3/Sat audio system with available Sirius XM Satellite Radio and three months complimentary service, standard auxiliary and USB audio input jacks with MP3 capability, Bluetooth hands-free phone, and streaming audio connectivity with steering wheel-mounted voice activation controls that allow drivers to keep their hands on the wheel at all times.

Heartbreaking Dawns hot sauces turn up the heat for Bullz-Eye

hot_sauce_1

We’re always up for trying new foods and flavors at Bullz-Eye.com, so we jumped at the chance to test out Heartbreaking Dawns hot sauces and found ourselves in a heatwave! Hot sauce dates back to ancient times and is believed to have medicinal and even aphrodisiac properties. Today, epicureans consider hot sauce a benchmark for culinary machismo, using pepper intensity to bring flavor depth and umami — that meatiness that brings a savory quality to dishes. Whether it provides gentle waves of mild heat or wicked lashes to the tongue, hot sauce is a home cook’s secret weapon that adds flavor and intensity to all things mixed, tossed, roasted, grilled or brined – essentially anything we eat or drink.

The below press release about Heartbreaking Dawns — a three-year old company out of Wyckoff, New Jersey founded by chef Johnny McGlaughlin, a fixture at Brooklyn’s food flea Smorg — provides novel approaches to incorporating the fiery condiment into food and drink, with equally satisfying results whether the dish or libation is savory or sweet.

Chef McLaughlin, founder of Heartbreaking Dawns, the award-winning hot sauce company, knows how to bring on the heat, from creating subtle waves of gentle warmth on the palate to unleashing fiery lashes on the tongue. “Hot sauce isn’t just for chili and its power comes in the form of building layers of flavors through pepper blends. Its image has changed dramatically in recent years as heat fans celebrate its powers of delivering potent umami or a deeper dimension of taste to dishes both savory and sweet,” said McLaughlin. “Hot sauce, when used properly, can lend a quiet, warm perfume of earthy and floral notes or ratchet up the ‘meatiness’ of any number of sauces, protein blends, dressings and even ice creams. Once you know how to use it, hot sauce becomes the home cook’s best friend.”

Detroit Band Records Song in Chevy Impala

impala

Check out this unique video from Chevrolet and the Detroit-based blues-rock sensation, The Gentlemen Mutineers. Lead singer, Frankie Turner, recently used the 2014 Chevrolet Impala as a mobile studio to record a remix of the band’s Metro City pride anthem, “Detroit Throttle.” The new Impala is quiet by design, due in part to the Active Noise Cancellation technology used in high-end headphones.

This technology allows the engine to operate at the fuel-conserving range of 1,000-1,500 RPM and helps eliminate the need for some sound-deadening materials, all of which improves fuel efficiency. The new Impala also uses a variety of sound-buffering and -absorbing materials to minimize wind, road and engine noise, including acoustically laminated windshield and front-door glass, triple-sealed doors with acoustic perimeter water deflectors, sound-absorbing carpet and dash mat, and more.

You can see the video below. Very cool.

lexus_gx460_1

This true-to-form, full-size luxury SUV makes quite a first impression! Full-size SUVs are hard to find anymore, and one with all of the appointments of the 2013 Lexus GX 460 Premium are even rarer. Whether on-road or off-road, this beast of a vehicle will take care of business.

EXTERIOR

A goal of the designers was to have the vehicle create the impression of being sculpted from a single block of metal. This is one tough-looking ride, and there aren’t many blocks of metal that want to get in the GX 460’s way. The distinctive grille features three horizontal bars and, upon closer inspection, intricate detail and texture that conveys renowned Lexus attention to detail. The front bumper features standard integrated fog lamps and functional design elements like low-profile roof rails and an acoustic insulation windshield that helps reduce wind noise. The 18-inch, 6-spoke liquid graphite wheels were large enough to look good on the GX 460. Some of the exterior premium features included adaptive front lighting system, high intensity discharge headlamps, headlamp cleaners and illuminated front door sills.

INTERIOR

The luxurious Lexus GX 460 luxury utility vehicle carries over into 2013 with its quiet cabin and a long list of standard features and options that make it a versatile choice for city and off-road driving. Our loaded Premium model came with these and other options:
