Toshiba Canvio 3.0 External Hard Drive

In today’s world, you always have a need for more storage, and as we start to organize photos and videos in digital format, we need ways to back up and protect our data.

Toshiba has introduced a new series of Canvio 3.0 hard drives that meet these needs. They offer blazing-fast transfer speeds and pre-loaded backup software, and they are cloud-backup capable. The units offer a variety of storage capacity and we tested the one terabyte model.

One of the main characteristics of these devices is the ability to sync with the cloud. The Canvio 3.0 is pre-loaded with Windows™-based NTI® BackupNow EZ™ software that provides step-by-step and fully-customizable backup capabilities to the cloud and to the drive. Users create a cloud account with NTI® BackupNow EZ™ where they can backup specific folders, certain file types, and conduct a complete system backup to the Canvio 3.0. The backup software also scans the user’s system and files and recommends which files to backup to cloud-based or on-device storage.

The Canvio family now includes the support of USB 3.0, enabling Canvio users to take advantage of the faster data transfer speed of USB 3.0-enabled devices. We were impressed with the speed when we tested it out.

Some advanced features include complete password protection with up to 256-bit data encryption to prevent unauthorized access to data and an on-screen Drive Space Alert monitor that sends an alert when storage space is running low. The internal Shock Sensor and Ramp Loading Technology protect the drive during daily movement from a pocket, desk, bag, or beyond so you can feel comfortable carrying this around. It’s amazing how small these devices have become and how much you can store in a portable device.

The design of the unit is very slick and sturdy with rounded rectangular form factor and sleek high gloss finish. It’s also easy to grip it on the sides. It’s available in black, white, silver, red, green, and blue3.

This makes a great gift for anyone on your list, both techies who will appreciate the advanced features and others who need a simple way to protect their photos and home videos.

With New Year’s Eve around the corner, everyone is looking for parties to go to. Bars and nightclubs can be fun, but usually a great house party can be the best option. First, you can avoid many of the crazy logistics involved in getting to a nightclub and then getting home, particularly if crashing at the house is an option. This is always great considering the risks associated with driving on this night.

When evaluating a party, the most important element single men will consider has to be the number of single women that will attend (along with the quality of course). A close second involves the booze. If you’re going to someone else’s party, be cool and bring a real contribution to the bar, and of course pick something you like. Better yet, pick something that the ladies will like, as this will be a great way to meet people at the party. Think flavored vodka and of course something that’s good for shots!

Of course one option is throwing your own party. If this is an option, all the considerations above need to be considered. And when it comes to single women, one idea to consider is a theme party. Think about it – women love to dress up on Halloween, so now you can give them another reason to dress up. Depending on the theme you pick, they can have fun picking out 70s fancy dress costumes, thinking up 80s outfits ideas or putting together sexy goulish outfits. Naturally, you want a theme that doesn’t require too much work but that also lends itself to sexy outfits.

This idea won’t work for everyone, but think about the crowd you want, and this might be a clever way to make the party bigger and better. Either way, be safe!

Car sales are booming

Car sales continue to grow as the year moves on, particularly for the Big Three as they reported excellent sales figures for November. The key is that the economy in the US is improving and that’s having an impact on car sales. Another important factor involves the tighter supply of used cars in this country and other countries as well.

With the economic crisis, car sales plunged for several years. With fewer new cars purchased in beginning in the fall of 2008, through 2009 and into 2010, that affects the number of used cars available now. The result is a somewhat altered car market as used cars are going for higher prices. But that also makes it easier to trade in your used car, and that then accelerates new car purchases.

So if you’re looking for a used car, whether in the United State or in other countries, you have to be even more committed to doing research before you buy a car in order to get the best deal. Car dealers aren’t as desperate to move used cars given the tighter supply and greater demand, so you have to get more information about used car prices as you do your search. You should definitely consider a wide variety of models in your category as well to give you the best chance of getting a good price. Now, if you’re in the UL and you’re absolutely committed to buying a used Vauxhall Astra, then that’s what you should search. Hopefully you’re a little more flexible. People who like a Ford Focus should also think about a Mazda or maybe a Chevy. Keep an open mind and you’ll get a better price, but either way, make sure you do your research.
