Castroneves Goes Down
Building off the momentum of Day One, we squared off against three-time Indy 500 champion Helio Castroneves in the Verizon hum remote control car race. He asked for the directions on “how to use this thing” and I pretended not to hear him.
I got off to a hot start and smoked the entire field, H.C. included. I snapped this pic for posterity.
Media Day
After trumping Helio, I could’ve gone home for the day. Glad I didn’t, because I would’ve missed Juan Pablo Montoya’s face.
Here’s pole-sitter James “The Mayor” Hinchcliffe sitting down.

Mario Andretti Made Us Pizza
Even though it looks just like Dustin Hoffman in “Wag The Dog,” that’s actually Mario Andretti. After he took off his robe, he made us all pizza.
After we were full, I asked Andretti how he became the greatest race car driver in history after to coming to America from Italy at age four: “Desire. I wanted it more than anything else. All I ever wanted to do was race. There was no Plan B.”
IMS Hall of Fame
“Hey, look – it’s the first car that ever had a rear view mirror in history. Thanks, Indy 500.”
Join us for Day Three tomorrow, affectionately known as Carb Day, where we’ll tour the pit stop competition, the IndyCar Mobile Command Center and interact with Indy 500 wildlife.
