I tried out the new Altitude Pro RGS WP from Hi-Tec and discovered a great, waterproof hiking boot. It’s very comfortable and has a rugged yet modern style that most guys will like in a hiking boot. It features an abrasion resistant heel and toecap that protects against rough terrains, and it also has a Vibram rubber outsole that delivers great traction.

“World Wars” premieres on History on Memorial Day

Starting on Memorial Day, HISTORY presents a three-part miniseries about the 31 years (from 1914 to 1945) that the world was at war — a story of one generation, who came of age during the First World War and would lead their nations in the Second. Narrated by two-time Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner, “World Wars” examines the two wars as one contiguous timeline through the eyes of the powerful men who held the fate of mankind in their hands; men like Roosevelt, Hitler, Patton, Mussolini, Churchill, Tojo, DeGaulle and MacArthur.

I love trying new spirits and discovering bottles that I can recommend to friends, but that rarely happens with vodka. Sure, there are subtle differences between premium vodkas and the volume brands that you can appreciate when drinking vodka straight, but it rarely makes a lasting impression.

That was not the case then I first tried Empire Rockefeller Vodka on the rocks. From the first sip I sensed something different and I wanted more. It starts with a very mild sweet taste which then gives way to a remarkably smooth and subtle finish. It’s really unlike any other vodka I’ve tried.

The winter wheat used is grown organically in France and the water used in its production comes from pristine French springs, filtered through Champagne limestone. Taste it and you’ll experience why these details matter.
