ARTISTIX makes a splash at New York Fashion Week

Runway photography by James Pickett

ARTISTIX designer and founder Greg Polisseni created a splash recently with his first ever New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show highlighting his designs and his art. You can see some of his designs in the slideshow above and the video below from the show. The designs from this lifestyle brand for men and women are original but also casual and accessible. The ARTISTIX line was featured in a Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week showing at Studio Arte on September 8th. The show highlighted the clothing based on Greg’s paintings “November Rain”, “Stars and Stripes”, and “Fearless”. We love the jean shorts on the ladies and the designs for men should get you motivated to update your fall wardrobe.

Product Review: Luchiano Visconti Dress Shirts

paul-eide

Just like when Homer Simpson’s life immediately improved when he changed his name to “Max Power,” when you encase your torso in a shirt from Luchiano Visconti, you will instinctively begin using the hashtag #PowerShirt! Because that is exactly how you feel inside.

The picture says it all, doesn’t it? The voltage delivered by such a badass shirt could power the entire earth. Think about how much money we will save on gas!

Sure, you might be constrained by the office walls until roughly 5:00, but until then, you can let your freak flag fly with an incredibly loud shirt from Luchiano Visconti. But this isn’t just a loud shirt; this is a POWER SHIRT.

It’s a shirt that makes people take notice, to be sure. In an otherwise drab environment, no one within eye-shot can resist its allure. People have to look at you. It’s a shirt that, by itself, amplifies your mood and the situations around you.

But the shirt is so versatile that it isn’t about making people look at you, or you wouldn’t wear a shirt like this in the first place. The fact that the shirt makes the ladies take notice is an extension limited or enhanced by the man wearing it.

Then again, if the shirt was completely uncomfortable to wear, who cares how cool it looks? Thankfully, Luchiano Visconti has your back.

Visconti traversed the earth for his shirts. He uses only the finest materials imported from Italy, France, Portugal, Turkey and Hong Kong, and combines different prints together to produce contrast details on the collars, cuffs and a placket for a cohesive fashion statement.

“We use the best materials from around the world,” says founder Sheba Hourizadeh. “We are dedicated to bringing you the forgotten skills of the past and leading edge technology to create the perfect fit.”

The mission is simple: to create and deliver the best quality, the finest styling and most unique details in designer sportswear today.

What’s even more appealing is the price. As an owner of several dress shirts that cost in excess of $200, I assumed the Visconti line, based on the feel, texture and design would be around the same price. But I was amazed when I saw the $65 price tag. Frankly, I was floored. These are fantastic shirts with the look and feel of some of the most expensive designers on the market, at unbelievably reasonable prices.

But it isn’t just shirts. There is an entire collection of streamlined, refined and forward ready-to-wear collection of Italian inspired menswearfilled with jackets, pants, sweaters, scarves, vest, polos and shirts. Along with regular sizing, Luchiano Visconti also carries big and tall sizes. For example, in sport shirts, the line starts at size small and goes up to 6X.

The Luchiano Visconti line pens its designs as self-generated products of imagination blended with designers’ passion from experience and information. They aim to create meaningful luxury clothing, targeting both the fashion and social conscience of the customer.

Great Shirts from Alara

Alara shirtI’ve been upgrading my dress shirts lately, so I was happy to have the opportunity to try out two new shirts from AlaraShirt.com. I found two slim-fit shirts that looked great on the website – the Lavender grid slim fit shirt and the Navy – White pencil stripe slim fit shirt. The Lavender shirt has the grid pattern that’s been popular lately and the second shirt had a classic blue and white thin stripe look.

When I opened the package I was impressed right away with the colors, which were very vibrant, and the overall look of the shirts that reflected the high-end quality of the items. I’ve been moving towards more fitted shirts for years, and both shirts were very well constructed and fit perfectly. Of course, that means I’ll have to stick with the healthy eating habits and working routine I’ve been I’ve been trying, as these slim-fit styles are not forgiving!

Both shirts are made with two-ply Egyptian cotton with meticulous craftsmanship, including 18 fine stitches per inch ensuring durability, adjustable mittered barrel cuffs, ultra flexible removable collar stays, side gussets for style and strength and Alara’s exclusive unbreakable mother of pearl blend buttons. With each item, you also get Alara’s
15-day, no hassle free return policy.

The fitted shirts look fantastic with jeans or casual pants and of course under a blazer as well. You’ll find a wide variety of styles from trendier patterns to more classic looks.

If the slim-fit look isn’t for you and you prefer roomier shirts, those options are available as well with Alara. Keep that in mind, as well, if you’re shopping for anyone else. It also helps to have some variety in your closet. If you’re wearing an undershirt, you might want to choose some standard-cut shirts for work.

Both shirts we tried are competitively priced as are all the items on this website. Bullz-Eye readers will get an additional 10% off the sale prices listed on the site by using coupon code “alara10” at checkout.

Along with dress shorts, you can also check out AlaraShirt.com for quality sports shirts and new items have been added for Spring & Summer. With Father’s Day around the corner you can find some great gift ideas as well.

New Rockport boots just in time for the winter months!

rockport_boots

With the winter months fast approaching, we were really pumped when Rockport sent over a pair of Break Trail Wing boots for review. These boots make quite an impression when you first try them on and they are perfect for a guy on the go, as they’re the perfect mix of rugged style and handsome sophistication. The leather and suede uppers are full-grain leather, which is easy to clean, maintain and extends product life. The Break Tail Wing boots provide a casual look, great comfort and serious style while others are just trying to keep warm. Many boots look good, but the Rockport Break Trail Wing’s boast exposed high-tech adiPRENE that provides shock absorbing heel cushioning that takes comfort to the next level.

It’s that time to gear up for the colder months, and there’s no better way than to check out these hot new Rockports.

We recently tested a pair of RocSports Lite Business Wingtips in light tan, and I have to say that from the moment I opened the box, these shoes impressed. These Rockport wingtips are ultra lightweight with high tech adiPRENE, which Provides shock absorbing heel cushioning that can match the comfort of topnotch gym shoes.

Continuing with providing the most comfortable shoe possible, RocSports Lite Business Wingtips sport a padded collar and tongue to help prevent blisters and lace bruising, EVA cushioning that conforms to the shape of the foot for a personalized fit and a PU outsole that provides durable shock absorption to help reduce foot fatigue. Believe me when I tell you that the good looks alone of these wingtips will allure you, but the technology and comfort are an added bonus! All of that and with the styling you see in shoes that cost much more than the $125 you’ll pay at Rockport.
