It doesn’t come much bigger than the Super Bowl in North America. The winners of the AFC Championship and NFC Championship meet for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, which is currently held by the Denver Broncos after they beat the Carolina Panthers in 2016.

Finally, the Champions League final is the most watched annual sporting event anywhere in the world. Even if you’re not a huge soccer fan, this one is a must. The two teams that have managed to safely negotiate through the knockout tournament meet at a neutral venue for Europe’s premier prize. This is a one-off game, so the result is determined on the night even if extra time and penalties are required. The favorites for success this year are Barcelona, who can be backed at 3/1, while Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have both been tipped to go far in the competition.

The best thing about watching sports is that they are unpredictable. Unlike going to the movies, where you can probably work out the ending within 10 minutes of the film starting, the result in any sport does not always go the way you expect it to.
