In a world where so many things are available at your fingertips, you are questioning life at its core, always trying to make sense of it by pushing yourself and proving you can do anything better than the ones before you. You challenge yourself to advance mentally, emotionally and physically by seeking extreme undertakings that will make you feel alive.

It is all about testing your limits and inspiring yourself to reach new heights and achieve new goals which seem like something out of the question. Something similar like winning the lottery or hitting a huge jackpot revealed here.

Extreme hobbies and sport achievements

Dangerous activities are on the top of the extreme list. Taking into consideration that men couldn’t fly almost a century ago, these endeavors would be unthinkable one or two generations ago.

The first thing that comes to mind when you think about sports is playing football or basketball. An extreme sport would be jumping into the water from a distance greater than 20 meters. Some of the most extreme yet somewhat normal sports-like interests are:

• Wingsuit flying
• Parachuting
• Sky Diving
• Bungee jumping
• Hang gliding
• High-lining

And that’s only part of it. What about sport achievements? One man can run 100m in 9.58s or swim 100m in 46.91s. There are extraordinary people like Usain Bolt or Michael Phelps who defy the norm and what is considered normal. They are the epitome of extreme and extraordinary.

How can other athletes settle for second best? Of course, they will push themselves to the extreme so they can reach virtually the unreachable.

Extreme science breakthroughs

In the world of science, extreme changes are an everyday occurrence. The perpetual development of this field promotes ingenuity, and most news now doesn’t even rattle us. All you need is an idea and everything is possible.

1. Exploding bacteria – Have you heard about exploding bacteria? It’s a new way of curing patients, which uses a laboratory engineered bacteria that, when it’s released into your system and comes into contact with the unwanted pathogens, explodes and kills them like a nuclear bomb. Extreme would be an understated word in this case.

2. Glow in the dark pets – It sounds like a science fiction movie, but they have gone to extreme lengths to make it happen. The result is surprising and of course out of the norm. No more night lamps and fear of the dark. A little glow in the dark bunny or kitty will take care of everything.

3. Synthetic telepathy – The military is making progress in communication by brain waves. Just imagine you are at a restaurant and all you need to do is think about your order and nothing more. Is it extreme or normal? You decide.

4. Laser guns – “Star Trek” is becoming the new normal. In the near future, laser guns will be equipped in military battalions to ensure precise targeting and better security. Set your phasers to extreme, because this might be too much for some of you.

The further we go ahead, the normal will be questioned and put to the test, thus making the extreme the new normal. Our mindset is wired that milestones are there to be surpassed, borders to be crossed, battles to be won, and victories to be repeated over and over again.

It is best not to question what is normal and what is extreme. It would be easier just to tune into the program and accept all of the changes that are coming, because even the extreme has an expiration date.
