The festive season is upon us, and most of us are probably wondering how we can enjoy Christmas and have fun whilst putting in the minimum amount of effort. After all, the festive season is for having fun and relaxing, and year after year so many of us spend it run down, tired, and stressed out after weeks of preparation and running around making sure that all the Christmas shopping is done. Thankfully, it doesn’t have to be like that every year. Follow our top tips to ensure that you have an effortless and relaxing Christmas this year.

Shop Online

Online shopping is an absolute godsend when it comes to Christmas. No longer is there the need to brave the busy shops and feel like you’re being trampled by hordes of excited Christmas shoppers or listen to bored and tired kids crying whilst their parents browse store after store. Instead, thanks to the internet, you can shop for great deals from the comfort of your sofa, and have them delivered straight to your door – often the next day. You can even have your groceries delivered to your door just in time for Christmas, meaning that there’s not really much need to leave the house at all if you’re not in the mood to brave the supermarkets this year.

Delegate Chores

If you’re sick and tired of doing all the Christmas chores by yourself, getting your family to help out will ensure that you have a Christmas which requires less effort and hassle. There are loads of different ways that you can assign different Christmas chores to your family members whilst still making it festive and fun. For example, you could write down all the different chores on pieces of paper and put them in a hat, and whoever chooses a chore has to do it. Or, you could let the computer do it for you by using the Twelve Chores of Christmas game by Ladbrokes.

Have a Plan

Sticking to a plan is one great way to ensure that your Christmas runs smoothly and stress-free. Draw up your plan and keep all of the tasks that need to be done in order, and keep it on your fridge door to check off each task or chore as it is completed. Put as many things as you can think of on the plan so that you’re sure nothing is missed out, as you don’t want to be forgetting the smaller details on Christmas day when you’ve had a few to drink.

Send Packages Early

If you’ve bought gifts which need to be sent in the post, making sure that you send them a couple of weeks in advance will save you on the postage costs and also get that task out of the way once things start to get a little busier. Just don’t forget to put on them that they’re not to be opened until Christmas morning!
