my opinions for the replacement of charlie sheen would only be satisfied by the entrance of a older sarcastic male to offset ashton age difference with charlie.
ted danson is mrs. harper new/ old flame and is introduced as ashton's grandfalther. \
Love the show keep up the good work, more berta and evilyn would be nice..

Don't screw with the original plot: Womanizer/playboy helps brother with son through hard times. Sexual innuendo and situations. The original show was showing weakness with Charlie digressing into a pseudo-loser. Maybe from considering marriage, which always proceeds the end of a good sitcom. My suggestion is after Charlie is written off by some non-tragic means, his uncle steps in (Alan's father?). He inherits the house as closest, older relative. Or he always owned it. Anyway, he shows up for the funeral and decides to stay. He could be a player of the suave and sophisticated type giving the show a fresh twist. And the part of the uncle is played by original womanizer, Ted Danson.

in all fairness, I feel the show should continue w/o Charlie Harper in the picture. Present him as Sheen wants to be perceived. Send Harper to rehab., show audiences what can happen when something goes wrong due to serious bad decisions and too much free living.
Right now...the "NO's" in my book (which means I will stop watching the show are)...

Woody Harrelson (he's such a putz)
Matthew McConaughey (he's not all that and a bag of chips!)

On the positive side...
I really like the idea of John McGinley. He was hysterical in Scrubs.

My #1 pick has to be Andrew McCarthy (look - he already has the shirt) who starred with Jon Cryer in "Pretty in Pink." (Maybe they can get Molly Ringwold to make a guest appearance.)

Obivously, Bob, we totally agree. There's no reason to can this show just because Sheen can't get his shit toegether. At least *try* something and see what happens.

Alright, I am going to add my opinion into the mix. I too thought of Emilio to take over the role, but figured that might send Charlie off an even deeper end (It would be fun to see that train wreck though); Warner and CBS need to Charlie (Sheen and Harper) the heav-ho. I love the idea of the circus accident, or perhaps how about he is just gone, into rehab and forgotten. This would open up the occasional reference to him, the one sided phone calls, and that he is still in the “Two and a Half Men universe, just not there.
Replace him like you have suggested. The soaps do it all the time, Bewitched, Dallas, Dynasty, Roseanne, Stargate(s), Farscape, and of course Doctor Who have replaced an actor with another to play the same role. (Yes I know there are more examples, but those are the shows that I watched where it has happened)

Write him off and kill him. Charmed flourished after Prue was killed, MI-5 aka Spooks has seen many a lead come and go, as well as MASH, CSI(s), NCIS(s), Valerie, and many more, so why the frack not? I think the cast has room to grow. Love the Idea of Herb moving in, focus on Berta and her whorish girls, Jake is going to become sexually active soon, or if they really want to jump the shark, make Manny Quinn into a real person( ah, drama for Rose)!

I really think if done correctly, the show has legs for a few more seasons.
Just my two cents…
